JAP racer

I ♥ cut 'n' paste. I've got boxes full of Muji books stuffed to bursting with various postcards from around the world that then get chopped. BP

You see, this is the genius of blogs. It's high time that more was known about Ron Mael's time as an amateur racer before he set up the band Sparks with his brother Russell. http://tinyurl.com/mz9g9t

In fact, the band took its moniker from Ron's racing nickname. While dicing with opponents, he was fond of reaching into a small pigskin pouch attached to his midriff and casting behind him handfuls of Scoggins' Lightning Crystals, which would erupt in off-putting burts of bright-white fire. By 1932 he was banned by all major racing authorities and never rode again.
